Hey Julie, they are pretty hard to spot at night. The Orang Asli guide that was
with us was the only person to spot them.I did spot a Cyrtodactylus
Pubisulcus on a tree.I really felt a sense of validation from the trip.I realized my
successes with Felinus were trial and error, but I was also very lucky.I had more
trial than error, and got it right, more often then not.I am definately hooked
more than Ive ever been, and Malaysia is just another year away again. After
that, hello Borneo.Even though Ive had alot of success with the Felinus in
captivity,I feel 3-5 more trips are needed to really understand all their
behaviours. They shut their eyes immediately when light is shone,is it just the
brightness, are they responding to humans,or is there another predator out there? They
will sit motionless for several minutes after that. Not the best defense, but it
makes you wonder.Still alot to learn.
