I use a clear deli cup to cover one and slip a thin piece of card
board under.
The males have a very prominent bulge just below the cloaca
Once you see the difference of male and female side by side you will
be able to know right away. On juveniles it's harder and often not
reliable until they are mature. The Clear deli cup is handy again!
You can clearly see the underside with out having to handle the gecko.
