I've got some experience with Blaesodactylus sakalava. I've been told to keep them in the low to mid 80's with a daytime high of around 88. I'm currently keep them on a sand/soil mixture that is similar to their body color. They'll use pieces of bark on the ground to hide under, or inside thick bamboo shoots. They like to climb branches, etc as they are arboreal geckos. They're almost as fast as my Phelsuma m. grandis. Speedy little suckers. I've only had two inconveniences with these guys. They're high metabolism cause them to lose weight fast, but they can gain it right back just as quick. It's weird. Second they're so agressive and enthusiastic about feeding that they often times get a good bit of sand in their mouth. I have not had any problems with impaction after 2 years of captivity. I mist them heavily about once a week.--- Paul Flinn
